My Founding Story
Have you ever found yourself living in a dream that you once had?
It's not like life is moving at a slow-motion speed, but the reality experience feels already familiar.
It's new and very old at the same time.
I found myself in this spot a few years ago when I signed my first art licensing deal as a coach, writer, artist, and speaker.
Having my own product line of impactful jewelry has always been a dream of mine. The way a woman adorns herself matters, and to get to have a literal hand in inspiring her every day is just a wowzer for a small-town girl like me.
You see, this is a huge part of my story.
As a former sales rep and forever creative, having my own product line 10 years later was, well… kind of a speechless moment.
I cut my teeth in the product world, driving 1,000 miles a week, covering my first territory.
The trunk of my car carried samples, stickers, catalogs, post-its, snacks, baker's twine, gift wrap, baskets, and more.
I learned how to feel the fear of sales, sit with it, and rise into my vision when walking into the front door of countless incredible stores.
I navigated zip code protection. I learned how to paint a vision for upcoming products for which I didn't even have samples yet. I embraced show season on concrete floors with 12-hour days and knew my product lines so that when I spoke about them to buyers, I communicated their whole story.
It was gritty and glamorous (at times!) I wouldn't change a thing.
The order of my events has allowed me to have a ballet flats-on-the-ground business education that only the school of experience, success, and failure can teach.
I share my founding story to say:
“Hey, you know what – that dream may feel tabled and just downright impossible in the present moment, but keep painting, my dear. Keep getting lost in craft stores. Keep learning the heart of your art. Keep chasing down your inspiration. Keep telling yourself ‘one day’ because guess what, you do that long enough, and day one will be here.”
“Keep chasing down your inspiration. Keep telling yourself ‘one day’ because guess what, you do that long enough, and day one will be here.”
Today, I support small business owners and brands, near and far, in building the brands of their life’s work. The support I lend is whole-person coaching and mentoring in a world of results-focused, hustle harder. No, instead, we go inner first before going outer. The work is deep and methodical, and it is what I was born to do and assist others with.
Thank you for being here and learning more about how I started. I am celebrating your strength and courage, and I hope that by being connected, you feel encouraged to pursue your dreams today.
What are you doing right now that is helping your future vision?
Do you believe nothing can be lost and all things can be used?
What is or what will your founding story be?
